Regional cooperation drives reforms that bring citizens a more efficient public administration
As part of a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro's Minister of Public Administration Mr. Marash Dukaj met with Bosnia and Herzegovina's Minister of Justice Davor Bunoza, discussing public administration reform, European integration, and improving cooperation between the two countries. The interlocutors assessed that a professional, efficient, and citizen-oriented public administration is one of the key prerequisites for a successful accession process to the European Union, as well as for strengthening citizens' trust in institutions. Therefore, we are building a public administration based on expertise, responsibility, and results. During the meeting, special attention was given to the professionalization of public administration and strengthening administrative capacities, considering that a significant part of the final criteria in negotiations with the European Union relates precisely to human resource management and the development of an efficient administration. The ministers expressed readiness to further improve cooperation through experience exchange, organizing joint training and workshops, implementing joint projects in public administration reform and digital transformation, and establishing regular institutional dialogue. The Minister of Public Administration also presented the results achieved in quality management, highlighting the implementation of the CAF model in several institutions, with support from ReSPA and KPMG, as well as plans for further modernization of public administration through AI-based solutions. Minister Bunoza reaffirmed the shared commitment of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina to build a modern public administration that meets citizens' needs and contributes to the European future of the region through a partnership and regional cooperation.
