Strengthening Cooperation Between Montenegro and the Republic of Turkey in the Field of Professional Development

The Police Academy of Montenegro hosted a reciprocal visit by a delegation from the Turkish National Police Academy during a two-day official visit marked by friendship, experience exchange, and discussions on future cooperation. Dr. Murat Balci, president of the Turkish National Police Academy and president of INTERPA, attended along with Her Excellency Ayda Ünlü, the Turkish ambassador to Montenegro, and representatives of the Turkish Embassy. On the second day, a meeting was held with the Director of the Police Directorate of Montenegro, Lazar Šćepanović, and colleagues, discussing specialized and advanced training, experience sharing, and good practices. The importance of continuous improvement of police officers' knowledge, skills, and competencies was emphasized, along with the role of training in standardizing police procedures, enhancing work quality, and increasing organizational efficiency to effectively respond to security risks and combat all forms of crime. The meeting identified specific training needs of the Police Directorate, opening opportunities for further implementation and intensified knowledge exchange with Turkish partners. The signed Memorandum is more than an institutional document; it forms the basis for concrete activities aimed at enhancing the knowledge, skills, and professional capacities of current and future police officers.
