Consolidation of Knowledge in Personal Data Protection for Employees of the Western Regional Directorate of the General Border Police Inspectorate

On June 18, 2026, the National Center for Personal Data Protection (CNPDCP) organized a training course dedicated to representatives of the Western Regional Directorate of the General Border Police Inspectorate (IGPF). The event was conducted in accordance with the Training Plan within the subdivisions of the General Border Police Inspectorate for 2026, approved and signed by the leadership of CNPDCP and IGPF on January 28, 2026. The purpose of the training was to strengthen participants' knowledge regarding the correct application of the normative framework in the field of personal data protection, considering the specific activities carried out by IGPF, which involve processing a significant volume of personal data in exercising control and surveillance duties at the border. The session covered relevant topics, including fundamental principles of personal data processing, conditions for lawful processing, rights of data subjects, obligations of data operators, technical and organizational security measures, and procedures for notification and management of security incidents. Special emphasis was placed on identifying and preventing risks associated with unauthorized access to information containing personal data, unauthorized disclosure, and improper use, with practical examples and recommendations aimed at enhancing compliance and responsibility in the professional activities of IGPF employees. CNPDCP appreciates the interest and involvement of the representatives of the Western Regional Directorate of the General Border Police Inspectorate and reaffirms its commitment to supporting public institutions in implementing and respecting national and European standards in the field of personal data protection.
