Budva: Increased Activities to Combat Drug Abuse During the Weekend – 19 People Detained, 30 Reports Filed; Individuals Identified and Arrested for Street Sale of Dangerous Tablets EX

Police officers from the Police Directorate carried out intensified activities in Budva aimed at preventing drug abuse, protecting the health of citizens and tourists, and discovering and prosecuting individuals involved in street drug sales. During the weekend, police in Budva confiscated 53 doses of narcotics, detained 19 persons, and filed criminal and misdemeanor charges against 30 individuals for drug abuse. The tablets of the same appearance have been subject to health warnings in some European countries due to the presence of highly dangerous psychoactive substances, which can pose serious health and life risks, including sudden fever, rapid heartbeat, and other life-threatening effects. Two individuals who consumed these ecstasy tablets experienced health complications requiring hospitalization, highlighting the serious risks associated with this psychoactive substance. Officers from the Budva Department of Security filed four criminal reports with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica and the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor against four persons suspected of committing crimes related to unauthorized production, possession, and distribution of narcotics, as well as enabling drug use. One of the suspects, from Podgorica, was found with 10 packages of cocaine, eight packages of marijuana, and 15 hand-rolled cigarettes with marijuana, believed to be intended for street sale.
