Signed agreements for bilateral scientific research projects between Montenegro and Austria

At the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, today was marked by the signing of agreements on co-financing bilateral scientific and technological cooperation projects between the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro and project leaders from Montenegrin research institutions. Dr. Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, and Marko Vukašinović, General Director of the Directorate for International Cooperation, European Integration, and EU Funds, emphasized the importance of international scientific collaboration for the development of Montenegro's research system, strengthening the capacities of domestic institutions, and connecting Montenegrin researchers with renowned international partners. Minister Jakšić-Stojanović highlighted that bilateral programs are one of the most important instruments for the internationalization of Montenegrin science, enabling researchers to exchange knowledge, develop new ideas, and establish long-term partnerships that contribute to higher quality scientific work and greater competitiveness of our institutions within the European research space. General Director Vukašinović stated that the Ministry continuously invests efforts to strengthen international cooperation and create conditions for more active involvement of Montenegrin research institutions in European and international programs. He added that bilateral projects are an important step toward deeper connections with leading research centers and preparing for participation in more demanding international research initiatives. After the evaluation process of the submitted projects by both countries, and in accordance with the defined criteria of the Call and available budget funds, the Joint Commission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Montenegro and Austria held a meeting on February 2. To implement the projects, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation will allocate up to 10,000 EUR per project for the Montenegrin research team, while the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research of Austria will provide the same amount for the Austrian research team annually.
