Published Regulation on Ceramic Products That Come into Contact with Food
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management has adopted the Regulation on ceramic products that come into contact with food, based on Article 5, Paragraph 3 of the Regulation on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food that can be placed on the market. The regulation was published in the 'Official Gazette of Montenegro', number 87/2026, on 24th. This regulation prescribes specific conditions for ceramic materials and articles that come into direct or indirect contact with food, including migration limits for lead and cadmium, as well as the method of verifying their compliance with the prescribed requirements. The regulation transposes the provisions of Directive 84/500/EEC, with all its amendments and supplements, into the national legislation.
