Kolašin: Suspected owner caused fire at Ivorije mountain hut; fire localized – Police have repeatedly warned about the danger of open fire
In 2023, the Fire Department in Kolašin was notified that a fire had occurred in Javorje, Kolašin municipality, and a team from the Kolašin Fire Department was dispatched to the scene. Upon receiving the report, the public prosecutor in the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Kolašin was informed, and police officers from the Kolašin Security Department responded to the scene. It was determined that the fire affected a meadow and low vegetation on M.R.'s property, covering an area of approximately 3,000 to 4,000 square meters, which was completely burned, while the fire was localized by the property owner and local residents. Based on collected information and measures taken, a person suspected of causing the fire was identified, namely the property owner M.R. The public prosecutor in the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Kolašin was notified about the incident and ordered the case files to be submitted for review and further proceedings. The prosecutor stated that a decision on the qualification of the act would be made after ongoing expert assessments. The police administration has repeatedly appealed to citizens to be cautious and to respect the ban on open fire, as irresponsible behavior can endanger people's safety and property and cause larger-scale fires.
