Montenegro hosts the 100th meeting of the Bologna Follow-Up Group Steering Committee

The meeting of the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG) Steering Committee, held within the framework of co-presidency by Montenegro and Ireland during the second half of 2026, was opened by Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović. She emphasized the importance of joint European efforts to improve quality, accessibility, and international cooperation in higher education, as well as Montenegro's active participation in the European Higher Education Area. Key topics discussed included fundamental values, internationalization and mobility, monitoring the Bologna Process implementation, quality assurance, the future of the Bologna Process, and the long-term sustainability and functioning of the European Higher Education Area. Special attention was given to preparations for the 2027 Ministerial Conference of the European Higher Education Area. The meeting also addressed the development of Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and the European approach to quality assurance of joint study programs. The BFUG Steering Committee meeting in Podgorica represents a significant opportunity for Montenegro to contribute to the further development of European cooperation in higher education and to exchange experiences with representatives from member countries and organizations of the European Higher Education Area.
