Meeting about the use of open source software in the Netherlands: March 8, 2006, MediaPlaza (Jaarbeurs) in Utrecht. During the Open Software Expertise (OASE) program carried out by Syntens on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs for three years, chairpersons and secretaries of industry associations were given the key to open the door to open source software. Now, on March 8, 2006, at MediaPlaza in Utrecht, Syntens and the Ministry of Economic Affairs take stock. The results of the program are compiled in a DVD that is handed over at the end of this meeting to the Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Mr. De Groene. Key in hand: Vakcentrum Levensmiddelen, Nederlandse Boekverkopersbond, Het Centrop, MoGroep, MarktOnderzoekAssociatie, KNGF, Nederlands Rundvee Syndicaat, ABU, and Vereniging voor Rundveepedicure participated in OASE and implemented open source software. After the presentation of the results by Syntens project leader Carlos Silva dos Santos, Wim van Slooten, director of the MarktOnderzoekAssociatie (MOA), discusses the significance of open source software for this industry and professional association.
