Prime Minister congratulates Andrijevica Municipality Day

The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Mr. Milojko Spajić, congratulated the leadership, citizens, and residents of Andrijevica on July 17th – Municipality Day. "On a symbolic level, this holiday encompasses the heroic heritage of the Vasojević region, encouraging new visions and efforts for further growth and development of the municipality. The tradition of freedom, civic spirit, and values upheld by Andrijevica serve as a strong incentive for us to jointly continue achieving strategic development goals, both for the municipality and for Montenegro," stated the Prime Minister. Since the post-war reconstruction period, as noted in the congratulation, no such extensive construction cycle in road infrastructure has been recorded, which is a key prerequisite for balanced regional development and better connectivity across the country. In this context, the commencement of the second section of the highway, Mateševo–Andrijevica, is of particular importance, as it will not only improve connectivity between the north and the central and southern parts of Montenegro but also play a significant role in regional and European transportation flows. The trust placed by the European Union in this project is confirmed by a non-repayable grant of 150 million euros. "In the coming years, it is necessary to continue strongly valuing the agricultural, water, forestry, and rural potentials of Andrijevica. Special attention should be given to the development of the Komovi area, whose natural and tourist potential can become one of the main drivers of sustainable development and attracting new investments, in accordance with modern standards and expectations of the European market," concluded Prime Minister Spajić, expressing confidence that Andrijevica and the entire northern region can expect stronger economic development at the conclusion of the European integration process, for the benefit of all citizens of Montenegro.
