CEF 2026: EDPB Launches Coordinated Enforcement Action on Transparency and GDPR Information Obligations
The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has initiated its action regarding the coordinated framework for enforcement (CEF) for 2026. Following the coordinated action on the right to erasure conducted in 2025, this year CEF will focus on compliance with transparency obligations and information provision under GDPR. During the second half of 2026, participating supervisory authorities will share and jointly review their findings to gather results of their national measures and gain deeper insights into the topic. Subsequently, a consolidated report will be prepared and submitted to the EDPB for adoption, enabling targeted follow-up actions at both the national and EU levels. CEF (Coordinated Enforcement Framework) is a key measure of the EDPB within its strategy for 2024–2027, aimed at improving enforcement and cooperation among data protection authorities. In 2024, the EDPB published a report on the results of the second coordinated action concerning the appointment and status of data protection officers.
