Ibrahimović and Rasmusen: Strong Support from Denmark for Montenegro's European Path and Further Strengthening of Bilateral Partnership

During the talks, possibilities for further improvement of political and economic relations between Montenegro and Denmark were discussed, along with continued Danish support for Montenegro's European integration, regional cooperation, and current security issues in Europe and the world. The meeting of the delegations confirmed the excellent and allied relations between the two countries, based on shared European and Euro-Atlantic values, mutual trust, and successful cooperation within NATO. Minister Ibrahimović thanked Denmark for its continuous and principled support for Montenegro's European path, emphasizing that an approach based on individual merits and achieved results provides a strong incentive for reform processes and enhances the credibility of EU enlargement policy. In this context, Ibrahimović highlighted that Montenegro remains fully committed to implementing reforms and maintaining the dynamics of the negotiation process, with the goal of successfully concluding accession negotiations and achieving full EU membership. Rasmusen emphasized that a strong and integrated Europe is crucial in contemporary geopolitical circumstances, reaffirming ongoing support for our European journey. He stated that yesterday's and today's meetings confirm the existence of a shared agenda and the commitment of Montenegro and Denmark to priorities that contribute to strengthening bilateral relations, the European perspective, and common interests. The interlocutors exchanged views on current security challenges in Europe and the world, reaffirming their joint commitment to preserving peace, stability, and the international order based on rules. Special attention was given to regional cooperation and improving good neighborly relations as important prerequisites for stability and the European perspective. They also discussed possibilities for intensifying economic cooperation, especially in areas such as green transition, renewable energy sources, digitalization, and innovation.
