Kordić in Yerevan: Montenegro has a strong foundation for the development of health tourism
The conference, themed "Travel for treatment, stay for recovery: when patients become guests," is organized by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia in cooperation with UN Tourism. In health tourism, we cannot rely on just one segment — it is necessary to connect medical services, accommodation, nature, wellness, gastronomy, and the overall guest experience," said Kordić. Her model combines medical rehabilitation, individual programs, mineral water, therapeutic mud, Mediterranean climate, accommodation, gastronomy, and the authentic ambiance of the Montenegrin coast. This year also marked 50 years of organized treatment and rehabilitation of Norwegian patients in Igalo, which speaks to the results and experience built over decades," emphasized Kordić. She added that health tourism is also important for extending the tourist season, as rehabilitation, preventive programs, wellness, and healthy aging programs are not exclusively tied to summer months. The gathering in Yerevan brought together decision-makers, experts, and representatives of the health and tourism sectors to exchange knowledge, present new development models, and strengthen international cooperation in the field of medical tourism.
