Declaration of Intent on Knowledge and Innovation
During a visit at the invitation of the chairman of the municipal executive board in Linköping, the Director General of the Civil Defence Agency discussed how the region can contribute to the development of total defence. The visit included signing a declaration of intent with Linköping University on collaboration around knowledge development for emergency services and innovation within civil defense. An important part is the connection to the business incubator LEAD, which in the spring was appointed Nato DIANA Accelerator, part of NATO's network for innovative technology companies in defense and security. Closer cooperation with actors in and around Linköping is an important step in this work, says Mikael Frisell, Director General of the Civil Defence Agency. The visit also included a field visit to the rescue service's new training ground, a project that strengthens local and regional capacity and can contribute nationally through experience exchange, method development, and innovation. The Director General also met with representatives from the business community to discuss how businesses can plan, prepare, and act to strengthen their resilience against external threats and disruptions.
