Bureau of Operational Coordination of the Intelligence and Security Sector Held 15th Session

The BOK concluded that during the period between two sessions, in accordance with previously established conclusions, the activities of the intelligence and security sector agencies were intensified. These activities, combined with appropriate organization and the undertaking of intelligence, preventive, and police-prosecutorial actions, contributed to numerous results in facing challenges, with a continuous emphasis on systemic action against high-risk organized crime groups and all forms of hybrid threats. The BOK also highlighted achievements from numerous preventive and repressive activities to combat firearm misuse, noting that in the period 2025-2026, approximately 6,300 pieces of weapons, about 200,000 pieces of ammunition, around 2,800 explosive devices, and about 133 kilograms of explosives were seized or voluntarily handed over through campaigns. Regarding traffic safety, the BOK welcomed the MUP campaign “Live, Don’t Rush,” and affirmed that, in addition to usual preventive and repressive measures, recent technological innovations such as the introduction of digital patrol models have been implemented. In 2025, around 12,000 traffic participants were deprived of liberty, over 13,000 drivers were sanctioned for driving under the influence of alcohol, more than 2,000 drivers under the influence of drugs, and over 275,000 fines were issued. In line with planned activities, the BOK reviewed reports on the work of institutions and inter-ministerial working groups, discussed issues related to protecting the integrity of the intelligence and security agencies, projects for introducing video surveillance of public areas, improving and modernizing operations, enhancing operational coordination and personnel strengthening, as well as other topics within its jurisdiction.
