Interpol: Turkish Citizen Detained in Kotor; Internationally Wanted for Crimes Punishable by Up to 35 Years in Prison

Officials from the Kotor Security Department, in coordination with officers from NCB Interpol Podgorica – FAST team for international targeted searches, located and detained M.G (27), a Turkish citizen, in the Kotor area. The police officers from the Kotor Security Department and NCB Interpol Podgorica, acting within their jurisdiction and based on operational information that M.G. was in the Boka Kotorska region, found her in Kotor and confirmed through further activities that she is wanted based on an international arrest warrant issued by NCB Interpol Ankara. The warrant was issued to secure her presence in a criminal proceeding against her before the competent court in Turkey, due to suspicion of committing serious criminal acts including sexual assault against a child and unlawful deprivation of liberty, punishable by up to 35 years in prison under Turkish law. The police will, within the legally prescribed period, bring M.G. before the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica for the determination of extradition detention.
