24 October 2026 – Security Council Committee on sanctions against ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida removes three entries from its sanctions list

On 24 October 2026, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al-Qaida and associated individuals, legal entities, groups and organizations removed three entries from its Sanctions List. The entries were deleted after the Committee completed its consideration of delisting requests for these names, submitted by the designating state in accordance with paragraph 75 of resolution 2734 (2024). Accordingly, the asset freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 2734 (2024), adopted under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, no longer apply to these names. The amendment to the sanctions list is available on the Committee’s website at: press.un.org/en/2026/sc16488.doc.htm. The list is regularly updated on the basis of relevant information received from Member States and international and regional organizations. In accordance with the resolution, the Committee has made available on its website, via https://main.un.org/securitycouncil/en/sanctions/1267/aq_sanctions_list/summaries, a narrative summary containing the reasons why an individual or entity was placed on the sanctions list. The Consolidated Sanctions List is also updated following all changes made to the sanctions list: https://main.un.org/securitycouncil/en/content/un-sc-consolidated-list.
