The Use of Digital Technologies in Schools at the Centre of European Exchange of Experiences
As part of the activities of the Consortium of Institutions for Development and Research in Education in Europe (CIDREE), an online meeting was held focusing on Norway’s and Sweden’s experiences in applying digital technologies in schools, current education policies, and the ways decisions in this area are based on evidence and research. The meeting was attended by 28 representatives of institutions belonging to the CIDREE network, while the Institute for Education was represented by Nevena Čabrilo, the national coordinator of the CIDREE network for Montenegro. The exchange of experiences enabled participants to learn more about the issues shaping current debates on the digitalisation of education, including the evidence underpinning decisions on the use of digital technologies. The meeting also considered the potential use of data from students’ assignments completed in digital environments to identify learning difficulties and common errors, as well as to prepare teaching materials tailored to students’ needs. Norway’s experiences were presented by Kristine Sevik from the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training (Udir), while Sweden’s experiences were discussed by Alper Jilmaz and Niklas Lajde from the Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket). As a member of the CIDREE network and Montenegro’s representative in this European initiative, the Institute for Education contributes through its participation in these activities to the exchange of knowledge and experience, the consideration of contemporary educational issues, and the strengthening of cooperation with related institutions across Europe.
