From Reforms to Results: Minister of Finance Discusses Next Steps to Strengthen Public Finances with World Bank Representatives
Reforms implemented so far are yielding results, while the next phase will focus on modernizing the tax system, more efficient management of state resources, and strengthening public revenues, it was concluded at the meeting between Finance Minister Mr. Novica Vuković and his team with World Bank representatives, which was also attended by the acting director. They also highlighted reforms aimed at improving the management of state enterprises, public investments, and the tax system. The reform of state enterprise management was a key topic of discussion. The importance of the adopted Law on the Management of State Enterprises was emphasized, establishing a new framework for more responsible, efficient, and professional management of state enterprises. The next step is full implementation of the legal framework, including the adoption of strategic and sub-legal acts, with continued expert support from the World Bank. Another important joint activity will be the implementation of the new Smart Tax project, which will support further modernization and digitalization of the tax administration.
