16th Session of the Coordination Body for Harmonization and Monitoring of Inspection Controls Held

During intensified inspection controls in the season, the first shift of inspectors issued fines totaling 1,780,405 euros, while the total amount of fines issued before the season reaches around 2.5 million euros. At the session of the Coordination Body for Harmonization and Monitoring of Inspection Controls, chaired by Minister without Portfolio Milutin Butorović, reports on the work of inspections for June 2026 were adopted. Control in the municipality of Plav was carried out at the initiative of the Food Safety, Veterinary, and Phytosanitary Affairs Directorate, with the participation of veterinary and tax inspections, as well as members of the Plav Police Department, due to indications of illegal slaughter of animals and meat trade. A representative of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, member of the Coordination Body Novica Mijović, informed attendees about the challenges in maritime traffic during the season and activities aimed at overcoming them. Besides the six permanently engaged inspections: sanitary, tourism, market, labor, tax, and food safety inspections, other inspections such as health, fisheries, road traffic, and border police inspectors were occasionally involved. During inspection controls, good cooperation was achieved with the Police Department and local government inspections in municipalities where joint inspection controls are conducted in accordance with the Action Plan for the preparation and monitoring of the 2026 summer tourist season.
