Continuation of the campaign 'Respect Life, Return Firearms' – in May and June, 101 pieces of firearms and over 3,400 pieces of ammunition were handed in

During the months of May and June, as part of the campaign 'Respect Life, Return Firearms', which the Police Directorate has been implementing continuously for several years across multiple cities in Montenegro, citizens voluntarily handed over to the police 101 pieces of firearms, 3,429 pieces of ammunition, and 7 explosive devices. In the jurisdiction of the Regional Security Center 'Center', in Podgorica, Danilovgrad, and Cetinje, citizens voluntarily surrendered 35 firearms, with the highest number in Podgorica. In the northern region of the country, under the jurisdiction of the 'North' Regional Security Center, in Andrijevica, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Kolašin, and Mojkovac, citizens handed over 21 firearms. In the area covered by the 'West' Regional Security Center, in Nikšić, Žabljak, and Pljevlja, 15 firearms were voluntarily surrendered, mostly in Nikšić. Of the total firearms handed in during these two months, the majority were pistols — 73 pieces, 27 rifles including three automatic rifles and one revolver. We thank citizens who recognized the importance of the 'Respect Life, Return Firearms' campaign and responsibly contributed to community safety, and we also appeal to everyone who still possesses firearms, ammunition, or explosive devices to surrender them without legal consequences, whether they are legally or illegally owned, thus continuing to contribute to the overall safety of society.
