This act demonstrates a commitment to preserving the culture of remembrance and antifascist tradition, nurturing historical memory, and showing respect to the innocent victims of one of the most severe crimes committed against civilians in Montenegro during World War II. By preserving their memory and remembrance, we safeguard the truth and dignity. Vice President Koprivica also emphasized the importance of the Resolution condemning the genocide in Piva and Velika, adopted by the Montenegrin Parliament, reaffirming the state's obligation to nurture the culture of remembrance, unconditionally memorialize sites of suffering, and permanently honor the victims, with a clear condemnation of Nazi-fascist crimes against civilians.
