Ibrahimović Receives Newly Appointed German Ambassador Gansen: Germany Remains a Strong Partner of Montenegro in the European Integration and Reforms Process
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Montenegro, Ervin Ibrahimović, today received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Montenegro, Edgar Alfred Gansen, during his introductory visit. Minister Ibrahimović congratulated Ambassador Gansen on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission in Montenegro, confident that his term will be an opportunity to further strengthen the friendly and partnership relations between the two countries. Expressing satisfaction with the good relations between Montenegro and friendly Germany, the minister particularly highlighted the significance of the recent visit of Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz to Montenegro and the strong messages of support conveyed during his participation in the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Tivat. He emphasized the importance of the G2G defense and security agreement, as well as numerous other signed memoranda and agreements, which provide a good basis for further cooperation. The minister welcomed Germany's strong role within European and regional initiatives, as well as its contribution to strengthening stability, cooperation, and the European perspective of the Western Balkans. Ambassador Gansen confirmed Germany's strong support for Montenegro's EU accession and praised the significant progress Montenegro has made in the European integration process, highlighting Germany's readiness to continue supporting Montenegro's reform efforts.
