Ibrahimović at ministerial events on the margins of GSUN81: From mediation and peacebuilding to accountability and global food security

– The Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Ervin Ibrahimović, participated today in five ministerial events on the margins of the 81st Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of Mediation, titled "Broader Coalition for Peace: Strengthening Mediation through Inclusive Partnerships." Ibrahimović emphasized that in times of rising geopolitical tensions, it is necessary to invest more in prevention, dialogue, and political solutions. He particularly highlighted the role of regional and subregional organizations, as well as the importance of including women in mediation processes and peaceful conflict resolution. The high-level conference of the Global Ministerial Alliance for the Implementation of a Two-State Solution was dedicated to implementing the roadmap towards a permanent resolution of the Palestinian issue, further reinforced by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and creating conditions for peaceful coexistence of Israelis and Palestinians through a two-state solution. At the UN Commission on Peacebuilding ministerial meeting, focused on national ownership and strengthening inclusive state institutions, Ibrahimović stated that sustainable peace rests on strong and responsible institutions, the rule of law, respect for human rights, and the inclusion of all parts of society in peacebuilding processes. At the ministerial event "Ensuring Accountability for Ukraine," Ibrahimović reiterated Montenegro's firm support for Ukraine and emphasized that a just and lasting peace must be based on international law and accountability for the gravest violations, including the crime of aggression.
