SANS announces European-scale CTF championship for cybersecurity professionals
The virtual "Capture the Flag" (CTF) championship is designed for cybersecurity professionals, students, and enthusiasts who want to test their practical skills in realistic cybersecurity scenarios and compete for the title of the first SANS European CTF champion. Organizers emphasize that the final tasks will be crafted to thoroughly assess participants' abilities to analyze incidents, identify threats, protect networks, analyze vulnerabilities, and operate within a security operations environment. The winner will be determined based on the total score at the end of the third day and will earn the title of the first SANS CTF European Champion. The prize pool is also notable: the first-place winner will receive a SANS training course and an attempt at the GIAC certification exam; the second-place winner will receive a SANS course, and the third-place winner will be granted a one-year "Skills Quest" license. To participate, one must create a SANS account and register through the "SANS CTF European Championship" section on the platform - https://www.sans.org/mlp/ctf-european-championship-2026#how-.
