Police at GP 'Aerodrom Podgorica' Detain Citizen of the Republic of Turkey Wanted by NCB Interpol Ankara
Officials of the Regional Border Police Center 'Center', in cooperation with the Criminal Police Sector, yesterday detained at the 'Aerodrom Podgorica' Border Crossing a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, E.K. (42), who is wanted by an international arrest warrant issued by NCB Interpol Ankara for suspected fraud using information systems, banking, or credit institutions. The warrant was issued based on an order from the competent authorities of the Republic of Turkey to ensure his presence in a criminal proceeding against him in that country. The criminal offense carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison under Turkish law. Further communication between NCB Interpol Podgorica and NCB Interpol Ankara is ongoing to facilitate his extradition to the relevant authorities of Turkey. The individual was brought before a investigating judge of the Higher Court in Podgorica within the legal deadline for further proceedings.
