Ivanović with EU and regional ambassadors in Warsaw

At the Montenegrin Embassy in Warsaw, a briefing was held between Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Dr. Filip Ivanović and ambassadors and chargé d'affaires of EU member states and regional countries accredited in Poland. This was the first meeting of its kind at the Montenegrin Embassy, bringing together numerous representatives of the diplomatic corps, Polish administration, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidency, as well as representatives of the NGO sector and leading research organizations. Ivanović presented the current progress of Montenegro on its path to the European Union, emphasizing that EU membership for Montenegro is much more than a political goal; it is a civilizational choice and belonging to a community of values to which Montenegro naturally belongs. In this context, Ivanović highlighted that the successful conclusion of Montenegro's accession process and the signing of the Accession Treaty would send a strong signal to other candidate countries that the enlargement policy is credible and that reform results lead to concrete goals. He also pointed out the importance of preparations for the next phase of the accession process, recalling that specific mechanisms have already been initiated and working structures formed to contribute to the most efficient preparation of Montenegro for membership. For Montenegro, continuous dialogue with member states remains of particular interest, given that the upcoming period is crucial for transforming achieved reform progress into concrete steps towards full EU membership.
