Nikšić: Criminal complaint filed against 16-year-old for setting fire to a vehicle

Police officers from the Nikšić Security Department, in coordination and cooperation with the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Nikšić, solved a case involving a vehicle fire and processed a minor suspected of committing a criminal offense. Police had been informed by citizens that a verbal and physical altercation involving several people had occurred in the Straševina neighborhood, as well as a fire involving a Dacia Duster passenger vehicle parked at the scene. Taking operational, tactical and investigative measures to clarify all the circumstances, police identified a 16-year-old from Nikšić suspected of setting fire to the vehicle. The minor is suspected of having used a pyrotechnic device—a flare—to start the fire in the vehicle in which people connected to the altercation had previously arrived, one of whom was close to the minor, after which he left the scene. Police brought the minor to their official premises and collected the necessary information, while the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Nikšić was informed of the incident. The prosecutor classified the incident as the criminal offense of destroying and damaging another person’s property and ordered that a criminal complaint be filed against the minor on suspicion of committing the stated offense.
