Ministry of Finance of Montenegro Strengthens Capacities for Protecting EU Financial Interests
Enhancing the protection of EU financial interests and national capacities in the fight against fraud was the focus of the annual AFCOS conference organized in Brussels by the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). Representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro participated in discussions on future EU financial support within the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for 2028–2034, the role of institutions in protecting European funds, and performance-based instruments. Special attention was given to countries in the process of enlargement, cooperation with financial intelligence units (FIUs), and improving guidelines for developing national strategies to combat fraud. Montenegro's participation offers a significant opportunity for experience exchange with member states and candidate countries, as well as for further strengthening the capacities of the national AFCOS system.
