Interpol NCB Officers in Podgorica Extradite High-Profile Target to the USA
Officers of the NCB Interpol in Podgorica, with the support of the Special Police Unit, extradited A.B (40), a citizen of Turkey and Iran, to the United States based on a final court decision. He is wanted by the USA for serious crimes causing damages of over 3.4 billion dollars, including computer fraud, hacking, and identity theft, related to large-scale cyberattacks on over 150 US universities since 2013. The stolen data and access to compromised university accounts were used to benefit the IRGC and other Iranian users. This operation exemplifies ongoing cooperation between Montenegro and the USA, continuing a successful partnership that has resulted in the apprehension of seven individuals over the past three years wanted by the FBI and US judicial authorities.
