Public Call for the Selection of the Curatorial and Authorial Team for Montenegro’s National Pavilion at the 20th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice

The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property has issued a public call for the selection of the curatorial and authorial team that will represent Montenegro at the 20th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice – Biennale Architettura 2027. The curators of the 20th Venice Architecture Biennale, Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu, have defined the exhibition’s overarching theme as “Do Architecture — For the Possibility of Coexistence Facing a Real Reality.” The Biennale’s theme directs attention to architecture as an active form of engagement in the contemporary world and raises questions about its role and responsibility in relation to complex social, spatial, environmental and technological circumstances. Candidates are expected, based on the Biennale’s overarching theme and the stated national framework, to develop their own curatorial and authorial concept for Montenegro’s national presentation, defining its theme and research position, title, methodological approach, content, and method of spatial and exhibition articulation. Application documents must be submitted electronically to the specified address. The competition results will be published on www.gov.me/mdup and www.arhitecturalcompetitions.me. Answers to questions will also be published on these websites. A curatorial and authorial team consisting of individuals must appoint one team member in whose name the payment will be made; detailed information is provided in the competition announcement’s annex, the Declaration Form for Legal Entities and Individuals. Team members shall regulate their mutual relations, copyright, fee distribution and responsibilities by mutual agreement. By applying to the public call, the curatorial and authorial team is deemed to accept all of its conditions.
