Liang Wang, on the occasion of taking responsibility for Montenegro, emphasized that it is a special pleasure and challenge for him to be in charge of a country on the verge of EU accession, highlighting the World Bank Group's readiness to continue providing strong support to Montenegro in the final phase of its European path. The minister thanked the World Bank Group for its continuous dedication and noted that Montenegro values the fact that this cooperation yields tangible results. Montenegro is in the final stages of its European journey, and our goal is to complete negotiations by the end of 2026. We need the support of partners who understand our ambitions and can help turn reforms into concrete economic progress and a better life for citizens, said the minister. Montenegro is already on the path to greater investments, new jobs, higher quality public services, clean energy, and a stronger economy. Therefore, cooperation with the World Bank is seen as much more than project financing; it is viewed as a partnership in building a modern and European Montenegro, concluded the minister.
