[lat] Gjeloshaj [/lat] opened the Ministerial meeting within Montenegro's chairmanship of the Berlin Process

The Ministerial meeting gathered ministers responsible for economy and trade from six Western Balkan countries, high representatives of the member states of the Berlin Process, the European Union, and regional organizations. We need to recognize what has been achieved: abolition of roaming in the region, Green Corridor, SEPA, agreements facilitating mobility, as well as digital tools that facilitate trade and movement of people. Gjeloshaj emphasized that a more integrated regional market means fewer barriers, more predictable procedures, easier movement of goods, services, and people, as well as greater investment opportunities. As the chair of the Berlin Process, we want the same culture of obligation implementation that drives our reform process to also contribute to regional economic integration. During the discussion, ministers of economy and trade from the Western Balkans, as well as representatives of the European Union, member states of the Berlin Process, and regional organizations exchanged opinions on concrete steps for further improving regional economic cooperation. A special focus was on implementing obligations and measures that can help remove barriers to business, strengthen company competitiveness, attract investments, and gradually align the region's economies with the European Union's Single Market.
