Vujović: We will turn the European opportunity into concrete development

The inclusion of Montenegro in the upcoming seven-year European Union budget for 2028–2034 is one of the strongest confirmations that the European future of our country is real, tangible, and increasingly close, while the cultural sector will turn this historic chance into concrete development. This was stated by Minister of Culture and Media Dr. Tamara Vujović, commenting on the European Commission's projections that Montenegro could benefit around 3.2 billion euros from the EU budget, based on the structure applicable to member states. "This is not just financial news. The declaration recognizes culture as a key element of European identity, democracy, social cohesion, and sustainable development. For Montenegro, this represents an important framework for further improving cultural policy and strengthening the position of culture as an area of public interest," said Vujović. Our goal is for Montenegro's creative potential to be more visible, competitive, and better connected to the European market. The upcoming European financial framework can open new opportunities for cultural infrastructure, digitization, artist mobility, protection of cultural heritage, media pluralism development, and strengthening the creative sector. Montenegro must be prepared for this moment with projects, ideas, and people who have knowledge, energy, and vision. According to her, we are entering a period in which we will demonstrate that we know how to turn the European opportunity into concrete development. "Culture must not be on the margins in this process. On the contrary, it should be one of the visible symbols of a European, modern, and creative Montenegro," she concluded.
