Strengthening Montenegro and Maine State Partnership in Cybersecurity

The meeting was attended by U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Michael Keays, Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj, as well as representatives of Montenegrin and American institutions. The discussion highlighted the importance of further developing cooperation between Montenegro and the United States, especially through the existing Montenegro–Maine State Partnership. The U.S. delegation presented the opportunities offered by the Maine Cyber Range at the University of Maine at Augusta, including potential access for Montenegrin institutions for practical training, simulations, and skill development in cybersecurity. The possibility of involving the Cyber Security Agency representatives in cyber incident simulation exercises was also discussed, which would enable practical testing of procedures, institutional coordination, and response capacities. During the meeting, Orahovac presented the Agency's progress in the area of professional supervision over the implementation of information security measures at key and important entities, in accordance with the Information Security Law. One of the future cooperation directions proposed was the consideration of an annual bilateral cooperation plan between the Cyber Security Agency of Montenegro and partners from Maine, with clearly defined priority areas and specific activities.
