MEP signed agreements on financing projects of 12 non-governmental organizations

On this occasion, Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević signed agreements today with representatives of organizations whose projects were selected in the Public Competition "One Step from the EU." Congratulating the organization representatives on successfully prepared projects, Minister Gorčević emphasized that the civil sector makes a significant contribution to the EU accession process, not only through its engagement in negotiating working groups but also through ideas, activities, and projects that promote the process and educate citizens about European values and standards. Through such cooperation, we can bring the European integration process closer to citizens, open space for new initiatives, and jointly implement projects that make European values and standards more visible in everyday life. The public call for financing projects and programs of non-governmental organizations in the field of European integration, called "One Step from the EU," was conducted. After administrative and technical review and independent evaluation, the Ministry's Commission, in accordance with the ranking list and available funds, decided to provide financial support to 12 projects with a total value of 149,111 euros. The supported projects encompass a wide range of activities aimed at improving citizens' awareness of the European integration process, strengthening capacities for utilizing EU funds, promoting European values among youth, environmental protection, development of local communities, improving the position of persons with disabilities, strengthening the rule of law, and encouraging active citizen participation in reform processes.
