Days of Bosniak Culture in Luxembourg Bring the Diaspora Together – Montenegro’s Multicultural Identity Is Affirmed and Preserved in the Heart of Europe

Minister of the Diaspora Mirsad Azemović and State Secretary Dženana Kuč attended the “Days of Bosniak Culture in Luxembourg,” an event organized annually for nearly two decades by the Bihor Homeland Club. This year’s event once again brought together prominent writers, academics, artists and cultural figures from Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Luxembourg. “At last, our citizens will be able to live in an environment that guarantees a high standard of living through the implementation of all laws concerning respect for human rights and the market rules necessary for rapid and efficient economic and social growth. Allow me, on behalf of the Government of Montenegro, to thank you this evening for the great contribution you have made to this process, which was by no means easy. Although you were forced to leave in search of a livelihood, you never abandoned your homeland. You always believed in a sovereign, developed and European Montenegro—a state belonging to all its citizens, wherever they may be. You demonstrated this in 2006, and you continue to prove it today, as the doors of the world open before us,” Azemović said, telling the diaspora that Montenegro needs their experience and knowledge in order to integrate as quickly as possible into the family of developed countries. “A new era lies ahead of us, one that requires your strong support. Montenegro needs your knowledge and experience; above all, it needs you—the people who, throughout all these years, have woven part of themselves into its statehood and development. Only united can we accelerate our country’s progress and secure a better future for ourselves and our children,” Minister Azemović said in his address. He also reflected on the Bihor Homeland Club’s longstanding work. “This evening I have a special responsibility, as well as the privilege, to highlight and commend everything the Bihor Homeland Club has been doing for years.”
