Report on the Achieved Share of Energy from Renewable Sources
In 2023–2024, a report was adopted on the achieved share of energy from renewable sources in the total final energy consumption in Montenegro. This report was preceded by a process of harmonization with EU regulations related to promoting the use of renewable energy. In 2023, the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) was adopted, which among other things, includes a national target for the share of renewable energy in total final energy consumption, set at 50% by 2030 for Montenegro. The implementation report of the NECP, including an assessment of the achieved share of renewable energy in total final energy consumption, is prepared every two years. The previous report on the share of renewable energy in total final energy consumption was prepared for 2022. Given this, and the obligation to report on progress and achieving the mentioned goal, this report on the achieved share of renewable energy in total final energy consumption in Montenegro for the period 2023–2024 has been prepared. In addition to calculating the overall share of renewable energy in total final energy consumption, individual shares in the electricity, heating and cooling, and transportation sectors were also calculated.
