Participation of the Ministry's Representative at the Annual Seminar of the European Social Network

The representative of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Family, and Demography, Dea Radević, participated in the annual seminar of the European Social Network (ESN). On the first day, topics discussed included European approaches to preparedness and crisis management, the role of social service systems in emergencies, the Finnish crisis management model, protection of vulnerable populations, and training of staff and managers for emergency response. The second day featured study visits to Helsinki City services, including the Crisis and Emergency Response Service and the Daily Emergency Service for Child Protection. Participants learned about the organization and functioning of these services, as well as the support and protection systems for children and families in urgent situations. Discussions also covered conclusions from thematic debates and ways to strengthen the resilience and preparedness of social service systems for future crises. The seminar provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices with representatives from European countries on crisis preparedness and management, risk assessment, and integrating social services into crisis planning and response, with a special focus on the needs of the most vulnerable populations.
