Parenting in the Digital Age: Education and Child Protection Focus of AKSK Training

The National Authority for Cybersecurity, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, organized the training "Parenting in the Digital Age: What's Behind Your Child's Screen?" with hybrid participation of over 1,000 parents. AKSK's General Director, Bledar Kazia, emphasized that online child protection starts with a trusting relationship with parents, where supervision is combined with counseling, allowing children to feel free to express their concerns. He highlighted the importance of early education for digital safety through integrating cybersecurity into first, sixth, and seventh grades, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, and continuing training for parents, teachers, and children. Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu stressed that technology should serve children to learn, create, and communicate while maintaining their safety and well-being. Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, emphasized school-family partnership and active parental involvement in children's education, focusing on after-school programs and the "Parent's Bag." During the training, practical guidance was provided on recognizing online risks, responding to inappropriate content and contacts, and communicating with children about online concerns.
