26th Session of the Commission for Monitoring the Implementation of the Education Digitalization Strategy

At the 26th session of the Commission for Monitoring the Implementation of the Education System Digitalization Strategy 2022–2027, the results of the national online assessment of sixth-grade students were presented, along with the results of the “Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence for Play and Learning” project and activities related to the development of cross-curricular themes. It was emphasized that the purpose of the assessment was to evaluate the achievement of learning outcomes and the quality of the teaching process, as well as to collect data for improving the education system. The Commission supported an initiative to consider introducing computer science as a separate subject from the fourth grade of primary school, including the ninth grade, and separating the Computer Science and Technology subjects when developing new curricula. An initiative will be submitted to the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation asking that these recommendations be considered as a starting point in preparing new curricula. The results of the “Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence for Play and Learning” project were presented, focusing on developing students’ and teachers’ digital competencies, artificial intelligence literacy, critical thinking, creativity, and the responsible use of digital technologies. Activities for developing cross-curricular themes in line with Montenegro’s National Curriculum Framework were also discussed, particularly in the areas of digital literacy and competencies related to artificial intelligence.
