Completion of processing requests for financial support to employees in the wood processing industry

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management has completed the processing of all received requests for the right to financial support for former employees in the wood processing and forestry industries, concluding this complex and extensive task within the legally prescribed deadline. Based on the Law on the Right to Financial Support for persons previously employed in companies in the wood processing and forestry sectors, 7,389 requests were submitted. All cases were categorized into three groups: those with complete documentation, those requiring additional documentation (1,133 cases), and those with reasons for rejection (currently 412 cases). The Ministry of Finance is obliged to designate a contact person to inform the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management about any payments made by the state under social programs—such as severance pay and declarations of technological redundancies in former state-owned companies—so that this Ministry can proceed with drafting and issuing a decision. Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture is awaiting information from the Employment Fund regarding the list of employees in the wood processing and forestry industries who received a payment of 1,920 euros, which should be deducted from the amount prescribed by the Law (12,000 euros). Once these two institutions complete their legally mandated tasks, the Ministry of Agriculture will issue a lawful and legally valid decision.
