CG in Turkey will strengthen cooperation through projects in the field of cultural heritage protection

Montenegro and Turkey will further enhance cooperation in all areas of cultural and artistic creation, creative industries, and projects for the protection, preservation, and presentation of cultural heritage. This was the message from the meeting of Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujović with the newly appointed ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Montenegro, Aydin Unlu. Vujović emphasized that Montenegro and Turkey maintain friendly relations and strong partnership in all fields. "In the previous period, a large number of projects were implemented within the Program for the Protection and Preservation of Cultural Goods, supported by programs aimed at protecting, preserving, and valorizing Islamic culture and heritage in Montenegro," Vujović recalled. Ambassador Unlu highlighted that Montenegro is a country with a rich history and culture, an area where the two countries can cooperate especially, and that many projects are carried out through the work of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency – TIKA, with financial support from Turkey. It was assessed that cultural institutions have quality and direct cooperation, exchanging programs aimed at promoting Montenegrin and Turkish culture. Particular emphasis was placed on cooperation in the field of cinematography, where Vujović pointed out that the Law on Cinematography provides incentives for foreign co-producers, including a 30% reimbursement of filming costs in Montenegro. Minister Vujović and Ambassador Unlu stressed the importance of mutual representation of Montenegrin and Turkish culture and participation in significant events.
