Dukaj: Cooperation is the best defense, and readiness is the best response to cyber threats
"Cooperation is the best defense, and readiness is the best response to cyber threats," said Minister of Public Administration Mr. Marash Dukaj at the event "Protection of Critical Infrastructure in the Age of Artificial Intelligence," organized by the U.S. Embassy in Podgorica and the American company Palo Alto Networks, a leader in cybersecurity. Minister Dukaj emphasized that protecting critical infrastructure is not only a technological issue but also a matter of national security, citizen safety, and trust in the state. Montenegro has significantly improved its cybersecurity system by adopting a new Information Security Law aligned with the EU NIS2 directive, establishing the Cybersecurity Agency, adopting the National Cyber Response Plan, incident and cyber crisis management, and strengthening operational protection of public administration through G-SOC and the National CIRT. It is now crucial to ensure consistent implementation of all measures in practice, understand our risks, eliminate threats in a timely manner, exchange information quickly, and regularly test recovery plans," said Minister Dukaj. He highlighted that building a resilient state requires strong cooperation with the United States, European and NATO partners, the economy, and the academic community. The event was an opportunity to exchange experiences on current cyber threats, the impact of artificial intelligence on the security environment, and concrete steps to protect critical infrastructure and strengthen Montenegro's capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber incidents.
