UIS Delegation at GREF Conference in Sofia: Focus on Strengthening International Cooperation and European Standards Implementation
The delegation of the Gaming Administration, consisting of Director Mr. Spasoje Papić and Dušan Kandić, an officer in the Risk Monitoring and Analysis Department, participated in the annual European Gaming Regulators Forum (GREF) conference held from 1st in Sofia, Bulgaria. GREF is the most significant European network of regulatory bodies in the gaming sector and currently includes 41 members from 35 European jurisdictions. The forum serves as a platform for cooperation, dialogue, and knowledge exchange among regulators, aiming to improve regulatory practices, strengthen international cooperation, and develop effective market oversight mechanisms. Through sharing experiences, regulatory approaches, and expertise, GREF contributes to advancing responsible and sustainable regulatory frameworks across Europe. This year's conference focused on the most pressing regulatory challenges, with particular emphasis on responsible gaming, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing, player protection, the application of new technologies, and combating the illegal gaming market, which remains a key challenge for European regulators.
