Achieving success is not enough to be a doctor, you also need to be a person with a big heart: Borovinić Bojović hosted the team that made history in Montenegrin medicine

The Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for health and social welfare, Dr. Jelena Borovinić Bojović, hosted today the team of doctors who will be remembered for the first kidney transplant in a four-year-old child in Montenegro – one of the most significant achievements in the history of modern medicine. "This meeting is an opportunity to show our doctors respect and gratitude for their knowledge, courage, humanity, and perseverance, which have written a new page in Montenegrin medicine. Excellence in expertise is the foundation of medicine, but it only gains full meaning when accompanied by deep respect for the patient. The importance of doctors of various specialties, nurses, technicians, and non-medical staff, whose contributions were indispensable at every stage of this demanding endeavor, was particularly emphasized. It is up to us, decision-makers, to support these people and give them an extra boost so that their vision does not remain just a promise but becomes a reality. This is not only a historic success of medicine but also a strong message that through joint work, we can build a better, more modern, and accessible healthcare system for all citizens of Montenegro," concluded Borovinić Bojović.
