CNPDCP's Participation in Workshop on Digital Safety of Youth in the Context of European Standards and the EU Accession Process

On June 29, 2026, the National Center for Personal Data Protection (CNPDCP) participated in a workshop titled "Digital Safety of Youth in the Context of European Standards and the EU Accession Process," organized by the National Youth Council of Moldova (CNTM). The event brought together civil society representatives, experts, and national public authorities to facilitate dialogue on analyzing the legislative, institutional, and policy frameworks in digital safety for youth and women, in line with relevant European standards, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Digital Services Act (DSA), and the AI Act. Discussions covered topics such as minors' and women's protection in digital environments, harmonization of national legislation with the EU acquis, strengthening institutional protection mechanisms, and identifying solutions and recommendations for developing public policies compatible with EU standards. A CNPDCP representative participated as a speaker in the panel "Regulatory and Supervisory Institutions: Institutional Capacity and Mechanisms for Skill Enhancement," aimed at regulatory and supervisory authorities. The importance of strengthening institutional capacities of supervisory authorities, including through developing monitoring tools, increasing control mechanisms' efficiency, and enhancing inter-institutional cooperation, was emphasized. Through participation in this workshop, CNPDCP reaffirms its commitment to promoting the right to data protection and developing public policies aligned with EU standards in the digital domain.
