Open Farmhouse in Pljevlja
Approximately 2.2 million euros have been invested in the construction and equipping of the building. The Farmhouse consolidates the Regional Office of the Payment Agency, advisory services, inspection bodies of the Food Safety, Veterinary, and Phytosanitary Directorate, as well as the municipal agricultural service. Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management Vladimir Joković stated that opening the Farmhouse is an important step in improving support for farmers in Pljevlja and northern Montenegro. 'Pljevlja is one of the most significant centers of livestock and agricultural production in Montenegro, and this region deserves strong institutional support and greater investments.' He emphasized that Pljevlja has long been neglected in terms of investments in development projects and that the Ministry, in cooperation with local self-government, is working to create better living and working conditions for the residents of this area. Joković announced continued cooperation with the Municipality of Pljevlja on defining and implementing priority projects, especially in road infrastructure and water supply. 'Quality roads and reliable water supply are fundamental prerequisites for the development of agriculture, improvement of livestock production, and retaining people in rural areas.' The President of the Municipality of Pljevlja, Dario Vraneš, highlighted the importance of the Farmhouse for local producers and the further development of agriculture, thanking the Ministry and Minister Joković for their ongoing cooperation and support for projects important to Pljevlja. The Minister reminded that supporting the development of the north is a priority for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management, and that efforts are ongoing to further improve regional access to institutions and services for farmers. 'Together with the Farmhouse in Berane and regional offices in other parts of Montenegro, we are building a system that will enable farmers to access necessary services closer to where they live and work.'
