Two Budva police officers prevented a man's suicide

On October 2023, around 03:20 AM, following a call to the neighborhood Babilonija in Budva, where it was reported that an unknown person was on the roof of a residential building. Upon arrival, it was established that a visibly distressed man was on the roof of an eight-story building, with immediate danger of jumping and committing suicide. Two police officers at the scene, assessing that they did not have time to wait for additional forces, without special equipment, climbed over a balcony of an apartment and, crossing the exterior of the building, reached the roof. They physically restrained the individual and prevented him from approaching the edge, risking a fall from a great height themselves. The individual, identified as a 26-year-old man, was safely removed from the building and given necessary assistance. The bravery, composure, professionalism, and willingness of the police officers to risk their lives in a critical moment were crucial in preventing tragedy, and the Police Department expresses pride and gratitude to the colleagues.
