Statement from the 142nd Session of the Government of Montenegro
The decision has been aligned with the provisions of EU Council Implementing Decision 2026/1912 of 30 [date missing], concerning the introduction of more restrictive measures for Ukrainian nationals, specifically persons liable for military service seeking temporary protection. Temporary protection will be granted to them only if they actually resided in Ukraine before arriving in Montenegro and have fulfilled their military service obligation in Ukraine or have been exempted from it. Financial resources for implementing the aforementioned projects are planned through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), all available EU financial programmes, IPA, and loans from development banks, including the EIB, EBRD, KfW, CEB, AfD and the World Bank. All projects have been successfully collected and processed for assessment and strategic relevance in accordance with the Methodology for the Selection and Prioritisation of Infrastructure Projects, and have been included in the table of the Unified List of Priority Projects for the environmental protection sector. The Information states that, at a meeting attended by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, the Association of Pensioners of Montenegro, and representatives of the meat-processing companies “Mesopromet” from Bijelo Polje, “MI Goranović” from Nikšić and “KD Tuko” from Nikšić, it was agreed that surplus lambs would be purchased from Montenegrin agricultural producers. The Ministry of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography and the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of Montenegro will provide subsidies for part of the purchase price, guaranteeing producers secure purchase and payment, while making meat available to pensioners at more affordable prices.
